The Reform UK leader Claims Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that teachers would go on strike within weeks a Reform UK election victory, accusing them of “harming young minds” by instructing children that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

At a gathering for a private US Christian college, Farage outlined his perspective on the UK education system, stating that the “radical left-wing” had “taken over schooling”.

“I’m anticipating a walkout by educators soon after winning the next general election,” Farage commented in response to questions.

“They are corrupting young minds. They are telling them to feel guilt about their nation. They are telling little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is a victim and a white child of the same age that he is an oppressor. They create division, not uniting us. They promote this harmful mindset.”

Reacting to these assertions, Daniel Kebede rejected the idea that the schools were under Marxist influence as “absurd”. Kebede noted that industrial action must relate to educators’ working conditions, and doubted whether Reform would attack these right after taking office.

“The politician has crafted his public life on coded rhetoric and now, like Trump, he is lining up teachers and their unions for a conflict,” Kebede stated.

“This is highly reckless. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he claims … Should he become prime minister he would sell out our public services, particularly schooling … and the outcome would be catastrophic for students and learning.”

Reform, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on a proposed education policy and does not appear to have designated an education lead.

However, his comments indicated the group would reform the system and the curriculum. He said: “We have got a massive job with schooling – absolutely herculean. Moreover, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it will take us years, a long-term effort to reform.”

Farage expressed that younger generations are receptive to critical thinking, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Honoring Charlie Kirk, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to educate individuals that multiple perspectives exist and they should decide for themselves as opposed to current practices where views are labeled good or bad. It’s a massive job in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with the UK’s largest teaching union, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and described the leader as “a cheap imitation”.

Farage has accused Kebede of being “a self-declared Marxist” … an individual intent that our children should be poisoned through education, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Roughly a million individuals are employed in education in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has about 450,000 members.

National strikes over teacher pay and conditions in 2023 led to significant interruptions in educational institutions and millions of days of lost learning for children.

At the US event, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the online educational material of the Christian college in the UK. He stated such groups were “key to resistance”, noting: “I mean this. I will help garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of youth to your online courses. I pledge this now and I will follow through.”

The institution, a religious educational establishment, provides complimentary classes. According to its online description: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty. The college furnishes these excellent programs for no charge to all who wish to learn.”
