One extended journey through the Land Down Under is being halted days after the death of an elderly woman who was stranded by the cruise liner on a remote island.

The passenger had been hiking on the remote island with fellow passengers from the cruise ship, but broke off from the excursion for a pause. The liner sailed away leaving her and returned after some time after the ship staff discovered the passenger was not present.

A large-scale search operation located her person the following day.

Officials are looking into the tragedy, alongside investigators and the medical examiner.

The CEO of the voyage organizer stated that passengers and staff on the vessel were notified that the remainder of the voyage had been terminated due to the "sad loss and earlier technical problems".

Through an announcement, he added that travelers would be issued a total repayment, and said the organization was working "to arrange the return journeys of the travelers via chartered flights".

Authorities also released an revised announcement, and said they had "issued a notice to the Commander" banning any further travelers from boarding the ship.

The official said that they would visit the vessel in the Australian city upon its coming back.
