đź”— Share this article Fans Urge Arrest of Individual Who Grabbed Ariana Grande Ariana Grande was in Singapore for the regional launch of Wicked: For Good Devoted fans of the actress are urging that a person who breached a barrier and seized the performer during Thursday's Wicked: For Good launch be detained or removed from Singapore. A circulating clip reveals the person identified as Johnson Wen shoving aside camera operators and lunging at Grande while the performers made its way down a event pathway flanked by supporters. Cast member Cynthia Erivo immediately guided the shocked actress away from Mr Wen, who was seen being removed of the event by security officers. Mr Wen stated on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "free after being detained", though legal records revealed that he was scheduled to attend court on Friday morning. It is uncertain if he was charged. Pattern of Event Invasions This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has crashed a concert or event. His Instagram profile contains recordings of him disturbing other star-studded functions, including jumping on stage at Katy Perry's Sydney performance in earlier this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers event in the city last December. "Measures must be taken enforced against him as this is clearly a punishable act," wrote an Instagram user, in a reply to a video Mr Wen posted of his actions. "This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" another Instagram user remarked. Followers Express Concern Over Ariana's Past Trauma Numerous supporters blamed Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had spoken of dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder after a suicide bomb attack at the end of her spring 2017 concert in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and injuring many. "The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" commented a further response on Instagram. Some supporters also criticised event staff at the gathering for not being adequately prepared; while some called for online networks to ban Mr Wen's videos. Aftermath and Premiere Information In clips spreading on the internet, Grande looked shocked when she was approached by the man. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen consoling her while Mr Wen was removed by staff. Grande has not issued a statement on the incident, and the rest of the event carried on uninterrupted. Hundreds of Singapore attendees had waited to see the performers of Wicked Hundreds of supporters had congregated in a sea of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific launch in a Singapore venue, including a number who had stood in line for as long as eight hours before it began. The film, to be launched on 21 November, is the follow-up of a dual version of the acclaimed theatrical show Wicked, which focuses on the surprising friendship between two distinct characters. The musical itself is a derivative of the 1900 book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Grande, who portrays the good witch Glinda, was adorned in a light pink glittering gown at the gathering while Erivo, who plays the Elphaba, wore a black tube gown decorated with roses. They were alongside co-star Jeff Goldblum. The initial film, Wicked, was the highest-grossing film of the previous year in the UK, and earned a dozen award recognitions, earning several for excellent wardrobe and production design.
