🔗 Share this article Ex- Doctor Accused of Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Patients Prosecutors have stated that a former physician has been charged with performing assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were patients. Details of the Serious Charges Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – some of which involve acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021. One deputy chief prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.” The Police Inquiry The charges follow what police described as a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital. The defendant is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th. Breakdown of Charges The charging documents said the forty-five charges include: 15 counts of assault. Seventeen counts of penetrative assault. Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen. 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration. 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
